Free movies from SeeFilmFirst.com

A friend recently recommended signing up to SeeFilmFirst if I wanted some free tickets for up and coming films in the area. I have to admit, I was a little sceptical, but he’s already been to see one film for free and had a number of emails about others showing locally. I’m yet to get any notifications but I haven’t given up hope yet. I’ll post an update if it works out.

Cinema tickets certainly aren’t cheap but the power of word of mouth seems to outweigh the price of a few cinema tickets for production companies that give out these free tickets. I’m guessing the cinemas don’t lose but, with the price of their food, they’d probably make a profit from most people that attend anyway.

I did a quick ‘google’ for see film first and it appears that the movie tokens they send out are posted all over the web on “free stuff” and “hot deals” websites. If I start getting to see films for free I might see what else I can stop paying for (legally).

Got to see Elizabeth yesterday evening and yes, it was free (and nobody stopped me at the door)!

A very random mix of people there, from the film buff to the ‘bring your own food’ crowd (always rustle the most). Everybody there seemed to be from seefilmfirst though as they all had the little print out. :)

Oh and yeah, the film was ok too.

How do you get free tickets?

Just sign up at http://www.seefilmfirst.com and then wait for them to send you an email.

The email they send out has a code in it. You enter that code in to a form on their website and then choose your nearest cinema.

Presuming there are any places left your ticket appears on screen and you just print it out and take it along to the cinema.

I registered on seefilmfirst some months ago and regularly receive notices of free showings. However, these notices always arrive on the day prior to the showing (or even on the day of the showing).
I reply immediately ; and always get the same message that all tickets have gone.
Is there some way of altering this situation ??

I have received lots of e-mails saying there are films to watch but when I get to the site it says it is booked up. I am beginning to think it is a con.

Hi doris, sorry to hear that you haven’t got any free tickets yet.

I can assure you that I’ve it isn’t a con, I’ve been to about 5 free screenings so far. Unfortunately they fill up really quickly so unless you check your email often you are likely to find the screenings full by the time you log on.

    Good luck!

    Hi Eric,

I’m not sure whether this is the fault of seefilmfirst or your email provider.

I occasionally have delayed emails from seefilmfirst or get them a lot later than a friend of mine. Very odd! Might be worth getting in touch with them, they seem to appreciate feedback.

I often get errors on their site and the whole process could be a laid out a little better so I let them know – not that they’ve changed anything yet! :(

I have been a member of see film first for a year and a half and can thoroughly recommend it in the last month i have seen 21, In Bruges, Son of Rambow and many other films. Waiting for the codes to come through by email is a useless way of doing it if you go on to the deals websites in the freebies sections they are always giving free codes out but be warned you have to be quick as they are usually gone within the first half hour of the codes being published.

Hey, i realised what i did wrong.. on the form there are 2 tick boxes at the bottom if you DONT click BOTH of them, you wont receive any codes through email. so you may have to re register as i did.
